Tarakasura had driven the devas from their realm. Kartikeya was still young when they appointed him their commander. He accepted the spear placed in his hand, mounted his peacock, and led their forces into battle. He watched Tarakasura’s movements, chose his moment, and completed the task he had been born to fulfil.

What are you ready to grow into?
- The jacket begins with Kartikeya's peacock moving across the back in turquoise, green, silver, and gold, worked in metallic thread and beadwork over the reclaimed ground fabric. Its lifted neck creates a sense of direction; its sweeping form carries the movement of a leader entering the field.
- Around it, 10 distinct reclaimed, hand-embroidered vintage sari textiles meet across the jacket in visibly mismatched panels. Each brings its own pattern, texture, and color, joined by dusty periwinkle-blue hand-finished stitching, recalling the many forces that shaped Kartikeya and the army he was chosen to lead.
- Dense seed beads, bugle beads, reflective sequins, and mirror-work shift with the light across the surface, evoking the awareness it takes to read a changing situation; gold and silver metallic thread and couched cordwork travel through the piece like the Vel, carrying intention toward action.
- Turquoise and aqua tones dominate the body and sleeves, symbolizing the open sky before the peacock takes flight.
- Joined by faceted glass stones in emerald, plum, and fuchsia, and ivory pearl-style beading at one cuff, each a distinct gift gathered the way Kartikeya gathered his own before he ever entered the field.
- The wide front hem bands with scrolling gold-on-turquoise pattern running the full width of both fronts anchor the piece at its base.
- No two sleeves match, and no embellishment pattern repeats panel to panel
- Open front with no buttons, closures or pockets, this jacket asks nothing to be fastened before you move forward, its soft patchworked point collar framing the moment she steps into command.

We carefully prepare each jacket while preserving the character of the textiles it holds. Older embellishments can be delicate or loose and need gentle handling.
