King Bhagiratha sought Ganga’s descent so her waters could release his ancestors. Ganga came from the heavens with immense force. Shiva received her in his matted locks and released her as seven streams. One followed Bhagiratha across the earth. When sage Jahnu held her waters after they flooded his sacred ground, she emerged again and continued toward the sea.
Ganga within me holds her purpose and finds a new path each time the terrain changes.

What purpose will you keep flowing toward?
- The jacket begins with a golden vertical path across the back. It evokes Ganga’s descent through Shiva’s locks, where immense force found its way into streams the earth could receive.
- Turquoise, sea-green, and pale aqua reclaimed sari textiles dominate the fronts and sleeves, carrying the river across the piece
- Silver and white thread embroidery and seed beadwork trace separate lines through the sleeves and front like currents finding separate routes.
- Mirrors set throughout the panels catch light from different directions, recalling water that changes with every sky while continuing to flow.
- Curves, circles, flowers, and embroidered borders mark the many landscapes Ganga crossed. Each panel follows its own path. Together, they carry the eye forward.
- One sleeve carries a row of violet rhinestones and a dense dark bronze-beaded band mark one sleeve while the other sleeve carries pale aqua embroidery on the other
- Open front with no buttons, closures or pockets, this jacket features a deep crimson lining and bright turquoise facing show at the open front and collar.
- Perfectly imperfect. Handle with care Each piece carries traces of its earlier life. You may notice uneven stitching, worn areas, missing beads or variations in the embellishment. We carefully prepare each jacket while preserving the character of the textiles it holds. Older embellishments can be delicate or loose and need gentle handling.
